What We Do

The Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s understands the importance of exercise and movement in managing symptoms and potentially slowing the progression of the disease.

The Foundation provides funding for activity-based programs and therapies that improve the quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s culminating with the imminent launch of a Parkinson’s Wellness Center in Southeast Michigan targeted to open in 2025.

The Foundation benefits from Kirk’s national recognition and credibility as an accomplished professional athlete to broaden awareness of Parkinson’s and provide a better understanding of its complexities.

In 2023, The Kirk Gibson Foundation:

Provided over 300 Parkinson’s patients with access to exercise programs.
Built awareness of Parkinson’s to millions of people through TV, radio, magazines, digital, social media and more.
Benefited from the work of over 50 volunteers.
